Generally, an adventure of two nights and three days where the drive takes you on the scenic and interesting highway into flat land of Terai, the breadbasket of Nepal.

More Details

Chitwan National Park regarded as the best park in Asia due to its varied wild-life with hundreds of exotic bird species that make this park more special as well listed in World Heritage Sites. Furthermore, this park covers an area of 932 sq.kms being the oldest park in the country. Previously, this park was a one-time royal hunting ground till the late 1960’s where more than 43 species of mammals found in the park, famous for endangered and elusive “Royal Bengal Tiger”.

The park is home to one-horned Indian Rhinoceros, freshwater Gharial and Marsh Mugger crocodiles along with many other common species such as gaur (Asian bison) wild elephants, four-horned antelopes, striped hyenas, pangolins, Gangetic dolphins,  monitor lizards, and pythons. Similarly, other animals found in the park include Sambar, chital (spotted deer) barking deer, sloth bear, palm civets, langurs, and rhesus monkeys.

Likewise, the park is also famous for over 450 species of birds, among the endangered birds are Bengal Florican, the Giant Hornbill, the Lesser Florican, the Black Stork and   White Stork.

Common birds include Pea-cock / fowl, Red Jungle fowl, and different species of Egrets, Herons, Kingfishers, Flycatchers, and Woodpeckers. Overall, bird watching is best around March and December.

Detail Itinerary of Chitwan Safari 3 Days

Day 01: Drive to Chitwan National Park premises and transfer to the hotel.

Morning travel by private transportation with an exciting overland drive on main Kathmandu to Chitwan highway, leading through Himalayan foothills, on reaching at Tadi Bazaar at Chitwan where a short drive leads you to your respective hotels within a place called Sauraha.

On arrival at Chitwan hotels, after getting refreshed start afternoon activity with a short walk to nearby Tharu village. The indigenous tribe of Terai belt, the low and flatland of Nepal. Evening enjoys the dinner with fascinating Tharu (indigenous tribe of southern Terai and Chitwan) cultural dance.

Day 02: Full Day Wild-Life Safari and Jungle activities.

In general Programs and activities begin early before breakfast. Firstly, walk to elephant platform for the ride on elephant backs leading you into the dense jungle to witness wildlife in its natural habitat. Other activities include the visit of elephant stables and elephant bathing and briefing. After lunch drives into the jungles as well ride on a dug-out canoe floating on the Rapti River where you can see freshwater Gangetic Gharial and Mugger crocodiles, if lucky including freshwater dolphins, and otters.

After that, Morning Bird Watch Tour, Machan (Watch Tower) Tour, Jungle walks, nature walks, and elephant and jeep safari. Similarly, elephant briefing and elephant bathing activities and finally entertainment of local Tharu cultural programs.

Day 03: Morning nature tour and drive back to Kathmandu.

Early morning options for nature and bird watching tours for interested visitors. After the short tour, you can have a hearty breakfast by 8 or 9 a.m. And get ready for departure from the lodge, where 4-5 hours of interesting drive brings you to Kathmandu from Chitwan.
