Detail Itinerary of Lumbini Nepal Tour 3 Days
Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Lumbini 282 k.m – 10 hrs. Overnight at Hotel.
Lumbini Nepal tour starts the early morning by 6:30 am after having your breakfast. The drive from Kathmandu takes you on the main busy highway of Nepal with some short break for light snacks and lunch stops.
Where lunch served will be local meals, not much variation like in Kathmandu. After a long journey, then finally arriving at Lord Buddha’s birthplace in “Lumbini”. After a long exciting drive takes a rest in your respective hotels, where dinner will be in the same hotel.
Day 02: To Lumbini with a full-day tour at places of interest. ( Maya Devi Temple, a holy tree of Bhodi, Asoka Pillar, Shanti Deep, Japan Peace Pagoda)
The second day of five hours Lumbini Nepal Tour. Waking up and having breakfast at 7:00 am with a 20-minute short walk to Maya Devi Temple where you witness Lord Buddha’s footprint inside the temple. Includes many other interesting artifacts and idols about Buddha and his family members. Nearby, visit “Maya Devi Pond” a sacred pond where Maya Devi used to take bathe on this calm and holy pond after given birth to infant Buddha.
Further, after visiting Maya Devi pond; where a short walk takes you near a big Bodhi tree, considered as a holy tree of Bhodi. Previously, Maya Devi on giving birth caught hold of the branch of this tree, where devotees and pilgrims worship and pray. A peaceful and serene environment where you will notice many monks and priests praying under a Bodhi tree. You might like to stay longer around these peaceful surroundings of complete ambiance.
Further Day Tour
Furthermore, the next important and historical importance site is Asoka Pillar, the stone pillar build around 3 rd century. Erected and built by the Emperor Asoka, ruler and conqueror of North India visited here. Later marked the spot to declare the very site of Lord Buddha’s birthplace.
Another important place is Shanti Deep a place with a bright Flame that symbolizes warmth and light of peace. After the tour of Shanti Deep, drive for 25 minutes towards world peace pagoda. Moreover, it was built by the Government of Japan also called Japan Peace Pagoda.
From here drive to Royal Thai monastery, Cambodian monastery, Myanmar Golden Temple, Korean temple, China Temple with more different countries monasteries and temples.
Enjoying the exciting and interesting time of the day then drive back to the hotel for lunch and relax. A short evening walks around the local market to catch a glimpse of local farm life.
Day 03: Afternoon drive back to Kathmandu on the same scenic highway.
Wake up call and then having breakfast visit for sometime around the temple of Maya Devi premises. And then drive back to Kathmandu on the same route taking about ten hours.
On the way back having lunch at the roadside restaurant where the drive takes you at the best available place taking care of hygiene. Thus, by evening you will reach your destination in Kathmandu.
If you have more time and wish to stay longer for more of 2 / 3 days in Lumbini. Later, you can visit other exciting Buddhist sites of Tilaurakot, Kushinagar, and Bodhgaya. You can also visit Pokhara and Chitwan, a famous touristic destination in Nepal.

Introduction
Maya Devi–Temple
This Temple is dedicated to mother of Lord Buddha where he was known as Prince Siddhartha in early childhood. According to Buddhist tradition, Maya Devi gave birth to the Buddha on her way to her parent’s home in Devadaha in the month of May in the year 642 BC.
Maya Devi – Pond
A clear pond where Queen Maya Devi of Sakya Kingdom used to take daily bathe and dip in the pond. Hence, it still exists after thousands of centuries a site of great holy significance for Buddhist followers as well to the historian.
Bodhi Tree
Previously, Maya Devi gave birth to the Buddha on her way to her parent’s home in Devadaha in the year 642 BC.
Feeling the onset of labor pains, she caught branches of Bodhi tree and gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama, the future Buddha. Similarly, Gautam Siddhartha the prince after leaving worldly pleasures and comfort and meditate under a Bodhi Tree where he achieved Enlightenment and reached Buddha-hood.
Asoka Pillar
A famous historical king and emperor of India as well as a conqueror. After many years of battle to unite his kingdom converted to Buddhism religion and visited Lumbini to mark the birthright of Buddha. Significantly, he erected and built a Pillar with the inscription to prove Buddha was born in Lumbini which was the Sakya Kingdom, at present within Nepal territory. This was in 249 BC, Emperor Asoka visited Lumbini and constructed four stupas and a stone pillar.
Asoka’s Pillar bears an inscription that translates as King Piyadasi (Ashoka), beloved of devas, in the 20 years of the coronation, himself made a royal visit, Buddha Sakyamuni having been born here, a stone railing was built and a stone pillar erected to the Bhagavan [” blessed one”] having been born here. The Lumbini village was taxed reduced and entitled to the eight parts. The site was rediscovered in 1895 when a German archaeologist came upon Asoka’s Pillar, identified by its inscription. Records made by the Chinese pilgrim Fa Xian were also used in the process of identifying this religiously acclaimed site. Lumbini was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
Shanti Deep
Shanti Deep means peace of light and awaken, a place with bright Flame symbolizes warmth and light of peace. Where flame that never diminishes or extinct which gives hopes and confidence that peace is always within your reach.
World peace Pagoda
Built to spread Peace/Shanti with a Buddhist monument of Stupa. A Buddhist pagoda, built by a Japanese monks Nipponzan – Myōhōji and Morioka Sonin with local supporters under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii. A Buddhist head monk founder of Nipponzan-Myōhōji, where Shanti means Peace in old Sanskrit language.
