Introduction: Phulchowki Hill Hiking
Phulchowki Hill Hiking takes you on top of the highest ridge of Kathmandu valley at 2,760 m high. Hence, one can enjoy a stunning panorama of high Himalayan peaks, with Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal in the west.
Further, views extend towards North facing Langtang, Jugal Himal towards Gaurishankar and Everest range in the eastern horizon, with tiers of rolling green hills dotted with nice farm villages and well-tended terraces.
Phulchowki Hill famous not only for mountain views but also for exotic bird-life and other animals spotted often on walks. Likewise, a great way to spend your day within the green pristine surroundings.
Phulchowki located southeast of Kathmandu valley within Lalitpur district, less than an hour’s drive to reach a beautiful spot of Godavari village with a nice botanical garden. Soon, the hike starts to reach on top of Fulchowki Hill of few hours climbs and descends.
Day Hike Details:
The morning after breakfast our guide receives you for an interesting short drive towards the southeast from the city of Kathmandu to reach past Patan and Lalitpur city area. Thereafter, a short drive to reach wide green areas of the Godavari and its nice farm village with exotic botanical garden to visit if time permitting on the way back or before the hike.
From here, walk heads with winding uphill climb facing views of peaks and valley entering into more wooded areas. Then, finally reaching on top of Phulchowki hill offers you with a stunning panorama of Himalayan mountains and dramatic landscapes.
After a quiet and peaceful moment with the sound of birds, head downhill at the Godavari, time permitting visit the botanical garden. Afterward, less an hour drive back to your hotel, with fabulous time on Phulchowki day hike.
